In Memoriam: Imelda Vital, European Direct Selling Association (DSA)

Imelda Vital, Executive Director of Seldia, the European Direct Selling Association (DSA), has passed away.

Vital dedicated her career to the direct selling industry for more than three decades and was a proud champion of the channel, serving on the boards of many DSAs and trade associations throughout her career.

Seldia, The European Direct Selling Association, shared the following message:

“It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Imelda Vital, Executive Director of Seldia | The European Direct Selling Association.

“For more than 30 years, Imelda dedicated her career to the direct selling industry, earning the respect and admiration of colleagues, members, and stakeholders across Europe and beyond. As Executive Director of Seldia, she was instrumental in the organisation’s growth and consolidation, helping shape it into the strong and respected voice of the European direct selling industry that it is today. Her vision, unwavering commitment, and ability to bring people together have left an enduring mark on our association and our sector.

“Imelda was far more than an exceptional leader. She was a trusted colleague, a mentor to many, and a dear friend. Her warmth, generosity, integrity, and genuine care for people touched everyone who had the privilege of working with her. She believed deeply in the power of collaboration and dedicated herself to strengthening relationships across the industry, always with professionalism, grace, and kindness.

“On behalf of the Seldia Board of Directors, our members, and the entire Seldia community, I extend our heartfelt condolences to Imelda’s family, friends, and loved ones during this difficult time. Our thoughts are with all those whose lives she touched.

“While we mourn this tremendous loss, we also celebrate Imelda’s extraordinary legacy. Her contributions to Seldia and to the European direct selling community will continue to guide and inspire us for many years to come. She will be deeply missed, but her vision, values, and unwavering commitment to our industry will never be forgotten.”

Funeral services were held in Brussels on Monday, 10 August, at the Church of Notre-Dame du Sacré-Cœur in Etterbeek. In accordance with the family’s wishes, no flowers or wreaths should be sent. Those wishing to honour Imelda may instead make a donation to the Fondation Saint-Luc, using the reference “In memory of Imelda Vital” (IBAN: BE41 1910 3677 7110).
