Atomy Wins Three Awards at Geneva Invention Exhibition

Atomy’s Electric Skin Cleansing Technology Gains Global Recognition: Combining Electroporation and Reverse Iontophoresis Achieves 98.96% Cleansing Efficiency in a Single Use. Winner of the Saudi Arabia Special Prize, Global Launch Scheduled for the Second Half of This Year. 

Atomy has demonstrated its presence on the global stage with next-generation skin cleansing technology, winning three awards at the International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva in Switzerland and taking the lead in the commercialization race for electric-based beauty devices.

Atomy announced on March 27 that the ‘EPRI Skin Cleansing Device,’ jointly developed with its partner Electri Co., Ltd., was awarded a Special Prize, a Bronze Prize, and a Saudi Arabia Special Prize at the 51st International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva.

According to Atomy, the Geneva International Exhibition of Inventions is the world’s most prestigious technology exhibition, featuring more than 1,000 inventions from 35 countries and serving as a global stage for comprehensive evaluation of innovation and technological completeness. At this event, Atomy and the Korean delegation won a total of 15 awards, proving their technological competitiveness.

The technology exhibited by Atomy is a skin care device that combines electroporation and reverse iontophoresis. This technology forms microscopic channels in the skin barrier through electrical stimulation, allowing waste products to be expelled externally, thereby overcoming the limitations of conventional physical cleansing.

In particular, the device measures the skin condition in real time and automatically adjusts output based on the transepidermal water loss (TEWL) index.

Additionally, it employs a silicone brush for physical cleansing in parallel, enhancing the removal efficiency of fine and ultrafine pollutants.

In human application tests, a single use achieved a cleansing improvement rate of 98.96%, significantly outperforming the conventional hand-washing method, which recorded 87.21%.

This technology is set to be applied to the ‘Atomy EPRI Skin Cleansing Device,’ scheduled for release in the second half of this year, and is considered a case that demonstrates the commercialization potential of electric-based skin cleansing technology.
